La pianta dell’alloro nell’antichità era considerata sacra sotto molti aspetti. Ritenuta la pianta del sole da greci e latini, veniva piantata accanto alla porta di casa per tenere lontani i fulmini e viaggiatori. Bruciando le foglie di alloro si trovavano responsi sul futuro:

storia, anche militare spirituale.
Oggi non si cinge più d’alloro il capo dei poeti e tantomeno si usano le sue foglie per pratiche divinatorie, al massimo lo si mette negli armadi per tenere lontane le tarme, o lo si tiene pronto in cucina per insaporire piatti di carne o pesce. Anche le proprietà curative erano ritenute valide fin dai tempi antichi.
Nel Medioevo l’alloro veniva usato come digestivo e per curare le affezioni della pelle come l’acne. L’alloro però possiede anche effetti antireumatici e stimolanti e beneficio al sistema nervoso e vascolare, se avete dolore imputabile a reumatismo o distorsione provate a fare un massaggio con l’olio essenziale.

si possono manifestare effetti indesiderati solo in soggetti
sensibili o predisposti ad irritazioni. Non bisogna non confondere l’alloro con il laurocesano,
