I massaggi e gli automassaggi
I massaggi e l’aromaterapia si completano a vicenda in modo gradevole ed efficace. L’applicazione degli oli essenziali tramite massaggi è benefica a livello sia psichico che fisico: oltre a rilassare corpo e mente, stimola la circolazione del sangue, il ricambio delle cellule epidermiche ed è inoltre in grado di alleviare disturbi e dolori.
I movimenti principali del massaggio sono tre:sfioramento, impastamento e frizione.
Il primo serve a iniziare e completare il massaggio. E’ simile ad una carezza, può essere più o meno vigoroso.
Il secondo contribuisce a rilasciare la tensione dei muscoli, ed è così chiamato perché il movimento è simile a quello che si fa per impastare il pane, con le mani si massaggiano i tessuti morbidi.
La pressione è utile invece per penetrare a fondo nei tessuti muscolari.
Si effettua con le dita, che devono comprime il tessuto nel punto in cui si trova l’osso.
Se non sapete a chi rivolgervi per i massaggi, potete ricorrere all’automassaggio: poche tecniche semplici, utili anche se naturalmente non possono sostituire in tutto e per tutto il massaggio vero e proprio.
Per prima cosa occorre preparare l’ambiente.
Il massaggio e l’automassaggio, si devono svolgere in una stanza sufficientemente calda, con le luci soffuse e un’atmosfera tranquilla e rilassante.
Anche la musica può essere utile, in particolare qualche brano di musica classica.
L’ utomassaggio ha tre applicazioni principali: per alleviare la tensione, i disturbi respiratori e la vene varicose.
Massaggio per alleviare la tensione:
I movimenti si concentrano sul viso, sul collo e sulle spalle.
Tenendo le dita piatte e unite, massaggiate la fronte partendo dal centro e procedendo verso le tempie.
Lo stesso movimento può avvenire anche a partire dal naso, appena sopra gli zigomi e risalendo verso le tempie.
Con la punta delle dita, effettuate un messaggio circolare, lento e delicato, sulle tempie.
Poi massaggiate delicatamente il cuoio capelluto, con un movimento simile a quello di uno shampoo, ma molto più lento. Spostate allora le mani sul mento. Tenete le chiuse a pugno e appoggiate sul mento solo i pollici, che sposterete lentamente verso le orecchie, sempre con il pollice destro verso l’orecchio destro e sinistro verso l’alto orecchio.
Occupatevi poi delle spalle, che sono il punto in cui si accumulano spesso tutte le tensioni. Appoggiate la mano destra sulla spalla sinistra e procedere lentamente verso il collo. Fermatevi dove sentite indurimento muscolare e massaggiate circolarmente e delicatamente.
Effettuate lo stesso movimento sulla spalla destra con la mano sinistra.
Diluizione degli oli essenziali
L’essenza deve essere diluita in un olio vegetale
( detto veicolo). A questo fine si utilizzano vari oli vegetali, valutandone in ogni singolo caso le caratteristiche, per poter
scegliere il veicolo più consono all’obiettivo prefissato.
Quelli maggiormente usati sono:
- Olio di mandorle: nutre e addolcisce la pelle
- Olio di jojoba: dona elasticità alla pelle, penetra rapidamente e rigenera
- Olio di germe di grano: ammorbidisce la pelle, la nutre e la rigenera grazie alle vitamine
- Olio di oliva: adatto per le pelli secche
- Olio di nocciole: penetra rapidamente e stimola la circolazione sanguigna
- Olio di girasole: a differenza di quello di mandorle irrancidisce più in fretta, però contiene vitamina E, come l’olio di germe di grano.
Contro lo stress:
Ingredienti:
- 4 gocce di geranio, 4 di lavanda, 2 di ylang- ylang,
- 2 di olio di girasole o di mandorle dolci.
Farsi un messaggio sulla fronte, collo, testa schiena e spalle,
oppure praticare l’automassaggio rilassante.
Se possibile, alla fine restare seduto in poltrona per
15 30 minuti,abbassare le luci o socchiudere le imposte, ascoltate una musica
distensiva cercando di scacciare i pensieri negativi.
