Spinaci e rucola fanno bene al fegato
Mangiare spesso spinaci e rucola fa bene al fegato? Mangiare regolarmente verdura a foglia verde come spinaci, rucola, bietola e broccoli, ricche di nitrato, aiuta la salute del fegato. Lo rivela uno studio condotto dagli esperti del Karolinska Institutet di Solna, a pochi chilometri da Stoccolma, in Svezia, e pubblicato sulla rivista Pnas. Gli scienziati hanno aggiunto del nitrato inorganico a una dieta ricca di grassi e zuccheri come quella che porta ad avere il fegato grasso. Gli scienziati hanno scoperto che l’assunzione di nitrato inorganico faceva scendere in modo significativo la quantità di grasso nel fegato. Il fegato grasso rappresenta un serio problema anche per la grande diffusione, quindi sarebbe opportuno inserire nella propria dieta i preziosi ortaggi.
Un’alimentazione troppo ricca di calorie è la prima causa di steatosi epatica, il fegato fa fatica a metabolizzare i grassi in maniera corretta; il consumo cronico di alcolici, in questi casi la severità dell’alterazione del fegato è proporzionale alla quantità e alla durata del consumo. Altre condizioni predisponenti sono:
- malnutrizione
- diabete
- sindrome di Cushing
- uso di cortisone ad alte dosi
- obesitÃ
- ipertrigliceridemia.
Altri motivi sono rappresentati dalla:
- perdita di peso rapida dovuta a diete estreme e dalla malnutrizione.
Possono influire anche:
- stress
- disturbi metabolici ereditari, che non consentono lo smaltimento dei grassi.
- malattie virali, come l’epatite C
- abuso di farmaci, come i corticosteroidi,
- la tetraciclina e l’aspirina
Sintomi
- Generalmente non ci sono sintomi, se non una modesta dolenzia in corrispondenza del fegato, talvolta il dolore è più marcato e sono presenti alterazioni degli esami di funzionalità epatica.
